Lillian Hong is the 1st place winner in the 2007 National Conservation Poster Contest

The Bergen County Soil Conservation District congratulates Lillian Hong for receiving first place honors at the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Poster Contest in the Grades 2-3 category.

Lillian won $100.00 from the NACD and her poster was displayed at the 62nd Annual Conference this February in Reno, Nevada.

Lillian’s poster started its journey by winning first place honors at the Bergen County Soil Conservation District level in the spring of 2007 and was advanced to the Department of Agriculture-State Soil Conservation Committee for State level competition. At the May 2007 Education Awards Ceremony, sponsored by the NJ Department of Agriculture and the Conservation Partnership, Lillian’s poster won first place honors in the State competition. The Department of Agriculture then advanced Lillian’s poster to the NACD, who chose Lillian’s poster for the first place award in the Grade 2-3 category for the entire nation.
